I am a doctoral level, licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual psychotherapy with adults providing services both in-person and online. I am licensed in both New York and New Jersey.
My therapeutic work in guided by a deep understanding of the role of relationships in our lives as a primary source of our interpersonal and internal distress. My work centers on the impacts of early life, attachment, interpersonal/intrapsychic relationships, somatic experiences and foundations of intersubjectivity; I develop individual treatments which include comprehensive and targeted interventions rooted in foundations of therapeutic theory. I currently treat a broad range of psychological difficulties, life stressors and relationship distress.
Prior to my work in private practice, I spent many years working as a clinical director at a large non-for profit focused on assisting families and individuals impacted by physical and sexual trauma. And, prior to my work in the therapeutic field, I spend many years working in film and television where I developed my love of stories; and continue to use the value of stories in my treatments.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a clinical supervisor/consultant to licensed psychotherapists and am a professor of counseling at various academic institutions teaching graduate students the art of psychotherapy.
